it's been awhile

I feel like I haven't written for a bit. Things have been crazy. I just got back from a quick trip to Portland. I ran around with Ellie and did some fun shopping at Saturdays Market downtown. We drove around town looking for a neighborhood we might want to move too. I actually have a good friend who invests in real estate and flips properties. I was chatting with him and suggested he should buy a house in Portland and Ellie and I can live there until he sells it for the next one. I was half joking but he said it sounded like a good idea, and told me to start looking for good properties. I won't lie...it's fun shopping for houses.

Other than that I've been busy with ward stuff. Our ward has really picked up in our focus on service. It's been great looking for folks to help fellowship. We have had several baptisms in the last year but our retention hasn't been the best.

I was also interviewed by a federal investigator. I was a bit nervous when I got the phone call. It was a stern sounding man with a deep voice (which seems about right, considering I can't imagine a federal investigator having a high voice) He needed to ask me some questions about a friend of mine who is applying for a position that requires government clearance for secrets. It was cool. We met at the Orange Julius in the mall. Really who does that?

I also bought the coolest key chain. It says "Future Trophy Wife". I laughed and laughed, but on a serious note I think it's important to have goals.

I also have my birthday coming up, and since I'm going to be very poor soon with student loans I've been thinking of asking my parents for new tires, or something that I need instead of want. Lame huh?
