My folks.

Happy 30th Wedding Anniversary Mom and Dad.

The following poem was written by my father in honor of His parents 50th wedding anniversary

Trees
by Daniel M. Miller

That tree there is really two trees,
it sprang up separate and spindly,
but roots met roots
in the soil,
like ambassadors of nations,
trusting, tentatively, shyly,
like lover's fingers plaiting a knot,
or weaving a basket
to catch the sacramental rain.

The branches shoot through the other
to share the sunlit hymns and,
to steady the other
from the storms and the tempests, and
in time there is no "other",
in time there is fruit and shade
and nesting birds and
a tire swing

Every yard should have such a tree
I thank God, my yard had such a tree
In time, my bride and I, may be such a tree.
the end
