While driving yesterday a bird had a monumental bowl movement in the sky. It was so violent it covered half my car and even managed to splash in my partially open window and land all over my arm. Thankfully I was on my way to Safeway where they have disinfectant courtesy wipes for the shopping cart handles. I used two.
It was such a weird day. Chase bank charged me 96 dollars for a transaction I was told would be free. They explained it was in the fine print, and I should have read it. I pointed out that their employee apparently hadn't read it, since he was the one who told me there would be no fee.
I went to the recycling center to drop off some boxes that were too torn to be used for moving. Because my new truck has no parking brake I have to put it in gear after shutting off the engine. Being in gear turned out to be a problem when I forgot about it while trying to leave. The truck lurched forward, I hastily added to the speed by slamming the gas, and the poor recycling dumpster didn't know what hit it. Dents were not the problem here, both my truck and the dumpster abound, the problem is the stupid men to my left laughing at me. I swear I work so hard to not be "that girl" and here I am in public being her. I drove off as fast as a 32 year old 4 cylinder mini truck could.
I borrowed Dad's BIG truck to help Katy pick up some stuff for her new place out of storage. I tell you this girl is on top of things. She found a nifty inexpensive storage place just over the Burnside bridge and super cool apartment over kinda near Goose Hollow? Only problem was the steep narrow stairs up to her place. Seth and I manned the couch and queen mattress. I thank the Lord that in my impractical flip flops I didn't stumble, fall, or break my back. Haley had the Big Truck booked at 5:30 so I couldn't stay too long, but we made a dent.
Thankfully I also got to go to the temple. It had been a bit since I had gone to an endowment session and it was nice. Sometimes when you've had a hectic day it makes it a little harder to put yourself in the right spot to be there. However I enjoyed it immensely and am learning a lot.
My apartment is just about packed up for the house move this weekend! There are boxes everywhere (thanks truck!) and I'm getting excited for more space, a yard, and living in a nice quiet neighborhood. Also there will be a return of "the birds". Yeah I'm going to get finches again!!! For those who don't know I tragically lost my pet finches (Mortimer Brewster and Tina Turner) to a pernicious case of the common cold (apparently fatal in birds) but I'm going to get some more and I'm deliriously excited!!! Really I've been wanting a dog, but there's no time for such things so....bird.
Anyhoo I hope you're all doing well out there in your worlds!!!
Love you all!
