The Paper Bag Princess

This a great little book that works hard to address typical gender roles in relationships. Specifically it focuses on a little princess whose prince is kidnapped and held in a castle guarded by a big scary dragon. Not one to sit around and sulk, the princess takes off to rescue her man. The going is tough, and by the time she arrives her nice clothes have been ruined and she has to wear a paper bag. When she finds her prince he is so disgusted by her messy hair, paper bag dress and skinned knees that he doesn't even thank her for her hard work. Instead he tells her to come back when she looks more like a princess. The princess lets him know he's a BUM and leaves him to the dragon. I might talk more about this book later, but thought I would put it out there in case you were trying to think of great Christmas gifts for your daughters or nieces.

I'm not posting this to insinuate men are bums and we don't need them, just that SOME men are bums and we don't need them.
Also, to show off the strength and power women have with or without a man.
