Africa

I'm off to Africa tomorrow for a couple weeks. I've taken my Typhoid pills, Malaria meds and received shots for Hep B, Hep A, Yellow fever, tetanus and who knows what else so as long as I sleep with a net and use 100% Deet I should survive.

Funny enough I think the flight might be the hardest part. My ankles swell and my Ischial Bursitis is acting up. Sharl suggested a blowup donut for my rear and compression hose for my legs. Great image huh? Not I just need hair curlers and I'll be just like that old lady on "Mama's Family". Remember the episode where she gets drunk off baking vanilla? Hilarious!

On the bright side, maybe I'll look odd enough no one will sit by me and I can stretch out a bit.

I'm taking a lot of snacks this time around, it may be naive of me but I'm really worried that I'll get sick of the food real fast. In Europe you could always find a delicious food vendor, but in Uganda you have to be careful not to eat anything that will give you the runs. Mom hooked me up with some trail mix and I bought a bunch of granola and dried fruit.

I guess typing about my packing for Africa will not be as interesting as writing about what I did there when I get back. I gotta warn you though, I'm going there for school work so when I get back don't be surprised if I don't have much to share.

I may adopt a black baby though, so watch out!

I love you all and I'll see you real soon!

Have fun! I had an enormous neck pillow for my flight to Hong Kong and a friend was telling me I should wear my snuggie and some eye shades and slippers too. Add that to the compression hose and blowup donut and hair curlers and I think you'll be set.
