Christmas - Miller Style

Say what you may about us Miller's but we are not a fancy holiday type family. We sit around in the same clothes for days on end, eat rolls with lots of butter and give each other fake tattoos. This little video captures a few of out traditions. One is a bit newer, it's known as the TimTam Slam and it consists of hot chocolate and chocolate wafer cookies. You bite off the ends of the cookie and use it as a straw to suck up the hot chocolate. Delicious. Another tradition involves hunting on the Christmas tree for the Christmas pickle. My dad threw a curve though this year when he used a different pickle than normal, and then somehow Hannah found the pickle immediately, and killed the fun for the rest of us. I guess there is always next year. Another new fun thing was talking to a missionary on the phone. Fletch is our first missionary and It was great to hear his voice. Dad set up the speaker phone and we all sat around. Fletch even humored us with a few quotes from teen girl squad and made it feel like old times. I wasn't familiar with the quote but it had something to do with snake water. Eventually reality starts to sink in and you realize that the outside world must be let in so you shower and brush your teeth and bid a fond farewell to the beautiful Christmas bubble that existed, if even only briefly.

Maybe I'm not really a Miller because I like to take showers :) Once noon hit, I was ready to be out of my pajamas! But I did miss having Christmas with you guys!
