For the birds

I got a new birdcage this week off ebay. Technically it will be a Christmas present later this month, but I can't bear to box it up and hand it over to mom just yet. It's smaller than I had hoped but it's going to be just right for two or three finches. They make such a beautiful sound and since I can't get a dog yet (no time, no patience) I'm settling for Birds.

Long-time readers might remember Tina Turner and Mortimer Brewster, my former finches, they lived with me up in Seattle, and unfortunately were the sad victims of my inability to heat my house. However, I think this new place I'm living is warmer and therefore better suited for birds with hollow bones.

I posted a faraway picture of it on its stand. Hard to tell but its Chinese wicker, and I'm going to paint it a fun funky bright color, as soon as I find non-toxic paint that will work.
