Internships

One of my lofty goals for this year was to apply and be accepted by each and every internship site I could. Well I'm in the thick of it now and not so sure.

LDS family services was my preferred site as of a week ago. Partly because they are LDS and also because they actually offered a stipend for working there. One which was really not too shabby for being a poor lowly grad student.

My interview went great but unfortunately it turns out they are overstaffed, which means it may be next to impossible for them to ensure I get the practice hours I need to graduate. Ack!!! Since that spot had seemed like a bit of a no-brainer shoo in I sorta did the old "all my eggs in one basket." Now I'm scrambling to get resumes and applications out to several more options.

As of today I will have applied with:

LDS Family services
Portland VA
Lifeworks NW
Children's Center of Vancouver
Catholic Family Services
DePaul treatment centers

I'm sorta nervous. But hopefully it won't be too difficult to sell myself.
I have an interview tomorrow with Lifeworks which is coinciding perfectly with a developing cold. I'm praying my "Man Voice" clears up before I get interviewed. Nothing creepier than a blond woman with the deep voice of a football linemen telling you how much she enjoys working with children and adolescents! Eek!
