Multiple creepy dreams about rats lately. Last night it involved falling into a rat filled hole in the ground and while trying to get out the rats in the hole used my body as some sort of bridge to forge their own escape. I spent most of the dream keeping my eyes closed and mouth shut. As much as rats on me is super gross-the thought of anything rat-ish getting in my mouth is 100 times worse. Remember when that band guy refused to play because a bird in the rafters of the stage pooped in his mouth? Its like that. That guy and I are on the same page.
In researching rats (and by research I mean Google) you find lots of references to disease and droppings. The year of the rat, however, in the Chinese calendar is not a negative thing at all. Specific to dreams I came up with this:
"With these images in mind, think about that rat in your dream. Is there something gnawing or eating away at you? Are you feeling guilty about something? The nagging problem, nagging fear, anxiety or nameless unpleasant emotion is one of the more common ways of interpreting the rat as a dream symbol. The problem may be physical, mental, or spiritual in nature. Is there something in your life that is unhealthy--a situation that is disease-like --something unhealthy emotionally, spiritually, or physically? Alternatively, ask yourself if there is a situation that threatens to get out of control in a short period of time. Something "breeding like rats".
