My favorite name for a future female child is Georgia and today while reading people.com I learned that a Hollywood couple named their child Georgia. This alarmed me.
I first fell in love with "Georgia" while watching the BBC's mini-series of Pride and Prejudice (1995). Mr. Darcy, the main dude, has a younger sister named Georgiana. She's shy and quite, but has a kick-butt name. Later on I watched a film called Hanging up (2000) with Diane Keaton in it. Her name in the film is Georgia and I loved it. It simplified the romantic sound of Georgiana and made it feel more like a livable name instead of a fairy tale princess.
I've been holding onto this name for too long for it to become overnight Hollywood fodder. So do me a favor. Whenever someone mentions the name or maybe even brings up this couple, (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20548519,00.html) change the subject and help them forget they ever heard the name. Do what you can to ensure "Georgia" doesn't become the next Jacob or Emily
Thanks.

perhaps a subtle eye brow raise before changing the subject will lead people to believe that this is a highly undesirable name. I'm on it ,as I know of 5 baby girls to be born in my vicinity.
