oh lucky day!

Today is officially my lucky day.
My first clue that it was a lucky day was when my most demanding, complex, and at times infuriating case at work got transferred to someone else. Lucky right? For a split second I was concerned that the transfer indicated a lack of confidence in my therapeutic skills but turns out that's not the case and a transfer just needed to happen. I have a great boss by the way. So now all that headache and bother, and stress is not my problem anymore!

Then after work I went to the store and my second lucky thing happened. My groceries rang up to exactly 50 bucks. Now I know that's not actually lucky. Luck would have been if everything had been on sale and my total was like 12 bucks....but the cash register gal said "Whoa! Look at that! 50 on the dot." She was pretty excited and told me that today was a lucky day.

I believed her until I got home and tried one of the new chocolate creme filled twinkies. Not good. So for a second I thought it was a regular day...until......

I checked that mail and guess what!!!! I freaking' passed my National Licensure exam. I am stoked! To pass you have to get at least a 64.5%. I know that sounds super low...but this test covers a lot of territory and to get a 90 or perfect score is not expected of anyone. Anyhoo, I managed to get a 72.5% which as of right now might as well be a 100%. I'm so happy to have it outta the way!

So I wish you well on my lucky day!

P.S. I was working once at the national broadcasters annual convention in Vegas and Jay Leno was our keynote speaker. He told a great story about this famous fella (I think maybe he was baseball player) he knew who would periodically change his travel plans so that he could fly through Vegas to do some gambling. His wife would always get on him and give him a hard time. After one trip where he blew a bunch of moolah he told her, "Listen honey, I might be having a lucky day. What if I'm running lucky and I don't know it and I miss my chance."

I told that wrong but I always liked that idea that there are times in our life when we're running lucky and it's up to us to test our luck and not miss a chance or opportunity because we're too lazy to try it out.
